How to export Google Maps results to Excel, with emails
Last updated: 5 November 2026
Google Maps has no button to export search results. To get them into Excel, use a Chrome extension that reads the results list: SweepLead collects each business, visits its website for the email, and saves an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file. The free plan covers 200 listings a month.
Why Google Maps does not export
Google Maps lets you save places to your own lists, and Google Takeout exports those saved places. Neither exports the results of a search, and neither gives emails, since Google Maps does not show them.
Export in four steps
- Install SweepLead from the download page and open Google Maps in Chrome.
- Type your search in SweepLead: a trade and a place ("plumber", "Leeds"). You can enter several queries and several places at once: the queue runs on its own.
- Let the collection run. For each listing, SweepLead records the name, category, address, phone number, website, rating and number of reviews, then visits the website to find emails, other phone numbers and social profiles.
- Open the Export tab, choose Excel (.xlsx) or CSV, then click Export.
You can also tick "Export the listings automatically at the end of each collection", and save a file after each search.
Keep only the listings you want
Before exporting, the Export tab can keep:
- only listings with an email, or with a phone number;
- only listings without a live website (useful if you sell websites);
- only some main categories;
- no personal mailboxes (Gmail, Hotmail…).
The columns you get
You choose the columns of the file and its language (headers and values). Among them:
| Group | Columns |
|---|---|
| Business | Name, Main category, Categories, Rating, Reviews, Claimed, Opening hours |
| Contact | Phone, Other phones (website), WhatsApp, Email, Email verified, Other emails, Contact page, Contact form |
| Address | Address, Street, City, Postcode, Country, Latitude, Longitude |
| Web and social | Website, Website status, Website technology, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X |
| Google Maps | Google Maps link, Place ID, Search query, Collected on |
More than 120 businesses
One Google Maps search stops at about 120 results, so one export from one search does too. To export every business of a trade in a whole country, SweepLead repeats the search from every point of a country plan (20 countries) and keeps each business once. How the grid works.
Questions
Can I export Google Maps results to Excel for free?
Yes, up to 200 listings a month with SweepLead's free plan, 50 of them with email. The Pro plan raises this to 150,000 listings a month for £9.90.
Can I open the file in Google Sheets?
Yes. Import the .xlsx or CSV file into Google Sheets with File, then Import.
Does the Excel file include emails?
Yes, when the business's website shows one: SweepLead finds it there and checks that its domain receives mail. In our grid test, 338 of 1,016 listings had an email. More in how to find business emails.
